Since founding our LLC in February this year, ONYX Specialty Processing has embarked on an ambitious journey to redefine aerospace manufacturing services. Operating from our 30,000 square foot facility in Decatur, Texas—a city that has been instrumental in supporting our business incentives—we are poised to transform the aerospace processing landscape.
As a greenfield site, ONYX is laying the groundwork for innovative operations. Construction is scheduled to begin in July 2024, and we are simultaneously ramping up our processing capabilities. Initial services being rolled out include Passivation, Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI), Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI), and ASTM F519 sensitivity testing. With a focus on quality and efficiency, we plan to commence active order processing for Passivation and FPI by September of this year.
In partnership with several aerospace machine shops, ONYX is part of a vertical integration initiative designed to streamline external processing that has traditionally been unreliable, costly, and a source of significant loss. By enhancing control over these processes, we aim to eliminate inefficiencies and reduce expenses for our partners.
Our ongoing collaborations are centered on identifying and expanding processes that most effectively reduce costs and production delays for our partners. We are also focused on developing additional prime partnerships to alleviate their bottlenecks and limited resource processing issues.
Stay tuned for our next update, where we will delve into the specific processing lines and long-term goals for our facility. At ONYX Specialty Processing, we are not just building a facility; we are setting new standards for the aerospace industry and fostering robust partnerships that drive mutual growth and success.
