Our Services
ONYX Specialty Processing leverages 21st-century technology to redefine aerospace component treatments with precision finishing and advanced anodic coatings. As a cutting-edge outside service provider, we fill critical gaps and alleviate production delays that plague the industry. Unlike traditional vendors, our modern, automated systems and seamless communication with aerospace primes ensure unmatched efficiency, quality, and adaptability, delivering results in days, not weeks, to enhance your production cycles.
Quality Systems
At ONYX Specialty Processing, quality is the foundation upon which every process, system, and decision is built. We operate in an industry where consistency, traceability, and trust are non‑negotiable, and our approach to quality reflects that reality. From facility design to process automation, we have intentionally engineered our operations to deliver the same high standard of results, order after order, without reliance on tribal knowledge or manual workarounds.
Our quality system is designed to meet and exceed aerospace expectations through disciplined process control, documented procedures, and real-time visibility into every job. By leveraging modern technology, automated equipment, and integrated digital records, we ensure that each component is processed exactly as intended and fully traceable from receipt through delivery. This structure allows us to identify issues early, respond quickly, and continuously refine our processes as requirements evolve.
We view compliance not as a finish line, but as a baseline. Achieving and maintaining certifications reflects our commitment to operating at the level demanded by the world’s leading aerospace manufacturers. More importantly, it reinforces our belief that reliable operations and trustworthy parts come from disciplined systems, empowered people, and a culture that values precision and accountability at every step.

Conversion Coatings
ONYX Specialty Processing applies chromate and chemical conversion coatings to aluminum on the same 42-tank automated line that powers our anodic operations. A unified lifting and part-moving system keeps travel and handling to a minimum, moving parts efficiently from cleaning through coating and rinse. We run both time-proven hexavalent chromate chemistries and non-hexavalent chrome alternatives, giving you a compliant, environmentally responsible path without giving up the corrosion protection and paint adhesion aerospace programs depend on.
Unlike anodize, conversion coatings preserve electrical conductivity — making them the right choice for grounding paths, bonding surfaces, and primer preparation. As our process line continues to scale, we’re eager to expand our conversion coating scope to match your production demands. What finishes are hard to source or stuck behind long lead times? Which are at risk from single-vendor exposure? Let us know how ONYX can grow to become your forward-thinking partner for sustainable aerospace solutions.
